Schlaepfer Park is located 5km North of Pukekohe, approx 50km from the centre of AucklandCity and 160km from the centre of Hamilton.
The Park consists of 4 hectares (10 acres) of native bush and grassed areas which are surrounded (to the East and West) by areas of land covered with mature native bush, and (to the north and South) with farming and agricultural land.
There are a small stream and waterfall complete with glow-worms (not generally affected by noise or lights).
Bush trails are provided in some areas. Some of the property was once part of an Ostrich Farm during the early 1900s and later during World War 2 was part of a large Army Camp.
The property is located approx 600 metres from Ostrich Farm Road and is accessed via a gravel driveway. A speed restriction of 30kph is applied to this driveway. The driveway entrance is located approx 500 metres along Ostrich Farm Road from the intersection at Heights Road.
The property has a main area with two accommodation buildings, an ablution building with male and female toilets, showers and hand basins with hot water, plus a kitchen/dining room.
A Chapel has been created within the bush near the main area which can be used for “Scouts Own” ceremonies and is also available for weddings.
The property has many grassed areas, suitable for camping or activities.
